Grocery Go is a Multi Vendor Marketplace for local sellers to create a digital shopfront and sell to local customers.
Local sellers such as market stall vendors, grocery sellers, butchers often don’t have the presence for online trade. Also the time to upkeep a personal website and the resource can put many sellers off. On top of this, marketing your online shop can seem a little daunting.
In the midst of the Covid-19 Corona virus pandemic Sam realised that many local sellers / vendors needed to adapt their business model from solely selling in a shop or market stall to offering their products online or by phone for local deliveries. This allowed them to stay operational, keep their business afloat and provide local communities much needed necessities. Especially older and more vulnerable customers.
After speaking to local sellers in our area we got a lot of feedback whereby sellers stated they will likely carry their current operations forward after current restrictions are lifted as it has been very effective and opportunistic for them. This was great news to hear and we decided 100% that we want to be there to help them achieve this.
The problem sellers then faced was how to get their products in front of a local community and their current customers on a regular efficient way. A personal business website could be an option for them. However, this comes with running and maintenance costs and still requires some sort of expertise with the daily running of the site.
Grocery Go was built to focus on these needs of the sellers. Providing them an easy to use all in one marketplace platform where they can easily upload their products for sale and provide their own unique URL and branded online storefront to their customers (eg grocerygo.co.uk/adams-fruit-stall).
From a user / customer perspective; Grocery Go provides an all in one marketplace to connect them to local sellers in their area. The user will be able to access the platform and in put their location, this will then provide sellers available for delivery or click and collect in the area. Alternatively, their local shops can provide and market their store URL for them to directly visit their online store on the marketplace.
A selling vendor on the marketplace can set their prices, delivery options and delivery locations within their very own easy to use merchant area. They are able to turn the shop and produce off and on with the click of a button in times of holiday, high demand and to maintain stock levels.
